Zero-Waste Workshop
This interactive workshop introduces students to how modern businesses work with Zero-Waste principles. Through short presentations and a collaborative exercise, students explore how companies can reduce waste through communication, innovative business models, and improved production methods.
Students are introduced to three key perspectives:
- Marketing – how communication, consumer behaviour, and packaging design can reduce waste
- Entrepreneurship – how waste challenges can become new business opportunities
- Production – how products are designed and manufactured to minimize waste in supply chains
In the second part of the workshop, students work in groups to design their own Zero-Waste solution to a real-world waste challenge, directly linked to one of the MakerFest exhibitors. Each team develops a concept combining marketing, business thinking, and sustainable production, and presents their idea in a short pitch.
The workshop combines practical examples, teamwork, and creative problem-solving, giving students insight into how sustainability can be integrated into modern business practices.
Participation is optional and only available for High School groups.
